Peace of Mind
Most people would be glad to have some peace of mind in their life. They would be happy to forget their troubles, problems and worries, and enjoy a few moments of inner calmness and freedom from obsessing thoughts.
What is peace of mind? It is a state of inner calmness and tranquility, together with a sense of freedom, when thoughts and worries cease, and there is no stress, strain or fear. Such moments are not so rare. They may be experienced while being engaged in some kind of an absorbing or interesting activity, such as while watching an interesting movie or TV program, while being with someone you love, while reading a book or while lying on the sand at the beach.
When you are on vacation, do you experience some sort of mental numbness? At this time the mind becomes calmer, with fewer thoughts and fewer worries. Even while you are deeply asleep, not aware of your thoughts, you are in a state of inner peace.
Such and similar activities take away the mind from its usual thoughts and worries, and bring some temporary inner peace.
The question is, how to bring more peace of mind into our life, and more importantly, how to experience it in times of trouble. You might also ask whether it is possible to make it a habit, and enjoy it always and under all circumstances. First, you need to learn to bring more moments of inner peace into your daily life. Later, you will be able to experience these moments in times of trouble or difficulties too, when you most need inner calmness and tranquility.
You can turn peace of mind into a natural habit, but to do so, special training is required, through concentration exercises, meditation and other means.

Twilight
Upon the release of any movie which is an adaptation of a book, there is always an air of expectation. Die-hard fans will be waiting with baited breath as they wonder if the filmmakers are of a high enough calibre to bring their beloved text to life. Those not in the know are probably wondering what all the fuss is about.
With Twilight the fan base is predominantly female, but spans the age range between teenagers to 40 year old +. Most hold a flame for the protagonist Edward Cullen and can identify with Bella Swan. Essentially Twilight is a very sweet love story and its fans will be eager to see these characters come to life. A few may be concerned with the technical character aspects … will Edward’s sparkle be right? Will Bella be clumsy? Will Edward smoulder!
It’s author Stephenie Meyer’s words which conjured up, in-depth, the brooding looks of Edward, making it impossible to escape his clutches as the reader pours over every page. The anticipation she crafts raises your heartbeat making you feel 14 years old and giddy. So did the film makers capture the essence of this book, and light up a darkened room with the same effect with which Meyer filled our dreams?
Whether you are a fan or simply considering the film, providing you enjoy a good romantic film, you will walk away quite satisfied with the story and anticipation which is created between Edward (ROBERT PATTINSON) and Bella (KRISTEN STEWART) through their body language and on screen romance. There are some beautiful scenes delicately paced to allow the action between the protagonists to come to life and hold the audience in awe.

There are a few plot points which didn’t make sense and some viewers felt that the beginning and middle of the film were drawn out. Romantics will disagree; it was lovely to spend time in the midst of Edward & Bella’s developing relationship.
Action fills the final third of Twilight when Bella is tracked by James – a vampire of the old fashioned sort, y’know human blood and all that! Of course the good guys win and the film ends with a cheesy ending involving the school prom.
So for the fans… I think I can say they would be disappointed at the choice someone made to fiddle with the ending. Victoria (RACHELLE LeFEVRE), James (CAM GIGANDET) and Laurent (EDI GATHEGI) (the bad vampires) were much more appealing in the film than the book. Bella’s escape from Edward’s brother and sister – Alice (ASHLEY GREENE) and Jasper (JACKSON RATHBONE) along with James’s blood-lusting plans to trap her were dealt with much more powerfully in the film version. I must also confess that I preferred the way the film didn’t dilly dally so much over Edward and Bella not touching each other. The film takes the kissing a little further as the couple tear at each others clothes. I felt this added to the chemistry created and did not cause harm to the original text.
If you haven’t read the book, I do hope that you are inspired after the film to do so… the tension and fantasy created go so much further.
The special effects were so so, they could have been better. Cinematography was promised from the stills released and posters of the film, but was not delivered in the film. But I empathise with the cinematographer – what can you do when the atmosphere is supposed to be overcast! Wardrobe and make up departments were right on the money I feel. I know some disagree, but I felt they brought the characters to life perfectly.
Commendation must be given to Stephenie Meyer, who detailed the courtship down to every breath and sigh, and provided screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg with a lovely story to work with. Applause goes to Pattinson & Stewart who deliver the characters’ body language perfectly, thus making the core fan base watch on in rapture.
Overall a lovely movie for many ladies who wish to lust for an hour or so…
